Rebbe as God?

This is taking it way too far.  Looks like the appropriation of more Christian theology by fringe Lubavitch groups.

  1. This is an old story already by now (unfortunately).

Ariel Sokolovsky has had his rebbe god blogs up fpr a while. Oddly enough, he posts a lot at failedmessiah.com, the very anti-Chabad website, and seems to have a cordial relationship with that blog’s admin. I think he is crazy-and the Lubavs who believe like him are crazy and idol-worshipers, but he seems like a sweet (albeit deranged) fellow.

  2. I’m sure David Berger (you seem to be “in the know” so you know who he is) would have a field day with these apotheosists. Apropos David Berger, he should really be out there addressing the whole Toaff affair.

  3. isnt it possible that the Messiah will be G-d?

Ezekiel 30:20-24 – G-d says that He Himself will be the Shepherd of Israel. Then He says that He will place his servant David as the One Shepherd over Israel. So it seems like He is saying that the Messiah will be G-d himself.

this doesnt mean that Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson is Messiah. but isnt it possible that when Messiah comes He will be G-d?

  4. Can you give that same citation with the versification of the Hebrew Bible?

Also, are you contending that the physical being who is the messiah “becomes” God, or that God Himself can be the messiah?
